Stew Peters is not a radio legend, but he will tell you he is!
Originating from the Minneapolis/St Paul metropolitan area of Minnesota, Stew first began his career in radio in 1998 while working for ClearChannel radio as an intern at 101.3 KDWB. His biggest influence was a group of high-powered personalities that were all on the roster at the powerhouse station including Tone-E-Fly, Scotty Davis, Zannie K and Dave Ryan. Stew answered and screened phones like a champ, assisted with running breakfast to the morning show, and occasionally got to be in the on-air studio. Very occasionally.
After working at the contemporary hits radio format station for a period of time, Stew went on to work at several restaurants, worked in the mortgage industry, became an independently signed national recording artist, and even spent a couple of weeks at the Minnesota Governor’s mansion as an “imposter” during the reign of Jesse Ventura. (surely you’ve heard the story if you’ve had the unfortunate experience of listening to the “Patriotically Correct Radio Show”, currently featured on Mojo 5-0 radio, the OpsLens network, and iHeartRadio stations nationwide).
Stew stepped back into radio as an on-air personality at 933FLZ in Tampa, KWNG radio in Red Wing, MN and Z93 in La Crosse, WI. Stew hosted a variety of shows from CHR format to Classic Hits Radio, political talk formats, and back into “Today’s Best Hits”.
“Being in-and-out of radio was kind of a money thing, plus a lack of interest in the same music every day all day”, said Stew when asked about his “lack of staying power", which he (not jokingly) compares to his sexual experiences
After failing to comply with direction, and refusing to “work for the man”, Stew began his own business as a bounty hunter in the Minneapolis/St Paul area, which quickly became one of the nation’s top private felony violent fugitive apprehension agencies in the nation. Peters and his team are responsible for the apprehension of thousands of wanted rapists, gang bangers, dope dealers, child molesters and thugs wanted for everything from firearms charges to homicide. The Twin Cities Apprehension Team (that can be found on YouTube (link here) became an extremely prolific agency as the success the team was finding expanded throughout the nation, and even across national borders. In the many years of experience in a terribly volatile and dangerous career, Peters is proud that his team always upheld the highest standards of professionalism, and Stew thanks God every day that he was never put in a position that would require him taking another life during a critical incident.
With a love for his country, and a heart that pumps patriotism, stars and stripes through his aging veins, Stew has taken his half-brained high school education to national radio, and he has found his passion, once again.
The best is yet to come.
